We have been talking about the five senses in our Science classes. Children have learnt the name of each sense and the organ it is used. Five senses are: SIGHT, HEARING, SMELL, TASTE AND TOUCH.

With my nose, I can smell rubbish.
With my tongue, I can taste an ice-cream.
With my hands, I can touch a ball.
With my ears, I can hear a television.
We also made an experiment. A child with closed eyes used a specific sense and the rest had to say what sense was using that classmate.

También hicimos un experimento. Un niñ@, con los ojos cerrados usaba un sentido haciendo algo, y el resto de la clase tenía que adivinar qué sentido estaba usando ese compañer@.
Antonio is touching a teddy. It is soft. He is using the touch.

Sheila is touching a scourer. It is rough. She is using the touch.
Antonia is listening to music. She is using the hearing sense.
Khadija is reading a book. She is using the sight.
As you know, we are in AUTUMN. To remember parts of the face, we have done in Arts&Crafts these amusing autumn leaves which are decorating the windows in our class in this beautiful season.

Como ya sabéis, estamos en OTOÑO. Para repasar las partes de la cara, hemos hecho en plástica esta simpáticas hojas de otoño que están decorando las ventanas en nuestra clase en esta bonita estación.
We are also learning an autumn song in English. We have to learn it and dance it from now on to November, 14th. Our older mates are going to see how well we do it!

In the first unit of Science, we are learning the parts of the body and the parts of the face. We already know all of these parts orally in English, but now we must familiarize and learn how to write them down.

Our school, as many others, develops the project called "School garden", carried on by the teacher Antonia.
We have gone to plant with her in our school garden. We have planted broad beans and parsley.
In our container we have planted parsley for bringing it at home. When it grows, we have to take care of it. Our parents could use it to cook tasty meals.

Nuestro colegio, como muchos otros, desarrolla el proyecto del "huerto escolar", llevado a cabo por la seño Antonia.
Con ella, hemos ido a plantar en nuestro huerto. Hemos plantado habas y perejil.
En nuestro recipiente hemos plantado perejil para llevárnoslo a casa. Cuando crezca, tenemos que cuidarlo. Nuestros padres podrán usarlo para hacer ricas comidas.
We also planted broad beans, which last more time to grow. Teacher Antonia has planted them in the school garden, and she will give them us when broad beans will be ready to eat. Look how our plants have grown in a few days!

También hemos plantado habas, que tardan más tiempo en crecer. La seño Antonia las ha plantado en el huerto del cole, y nos las dará cuando estén listas para comer. ¡Mirad cómo han crecido nuestras plantas en pocos días!

BROAD BEANS
Now, your plant is at home. Remember! You have to care take of it. Plants need WATER, SOIL, AIR and SUNLIGHT. Water them everyday, as this funny song tells us:
