ST. PATRICK'S DAY

This week we have been celebrating St. Patrick's Day in our school. For that reason, on Friday we wore green clothes, since GREEN is the colour for Ireland.

We learnt a little bit about the history of St. Patrick:

Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated in Ireland in March, 17th. The capital city of Ireland is Dublin.

The Irish flag is green, white and orange.

Leprechauns are tiny men who wear green clothes. They collect pots of gold and they hide them at the end of the rainbow.

Esta semana hemos estado celebrando el día de San Patricio en nuestro cole. Por esa razón, el viernes nos pusimos ropa verde, ya que el verde es el color de Irlanda.

Aprendimos un poco sobre la historia de San Patricio:

El día de San Patricio se celebra en Irlanda el 17 de marzo. La capital de Irlanda es Dublín.

La bandera irlandesa es verde, blanca y naranja.

Los LEPRECHAUNS son hombres diminutos que usan ropa verde (duendes). Coleccionan ollas de oro y las esconden al final del arco iris.

On Friday, we played different games related to St Patrick's Day vocabulary. Then, we made a green hat, we maked up a shamrock in our face and we took some photographs...

We also found a pot of gold!
We took the pot of gold from a leprechaun!

SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY!

Last Wednesday, we celebrated Saint Valentine's day (February, 14th). We learnt some words related to the topic and we played some games.

After that, we took a name of our names bottle and we wrote a positive message to that child. Then, we also made a Valentine (a card) and finally we listened to this song:

El pasado miércoles celebramos el día de San Valentín (el 14 de febrero). Aprendimos algunas palabras relacionadas con el tema y jugamos algunos juegos.

Después, cogimos un nombre de nuestro bote de los nombres y escribimos un mensaje positivo a ese niñ@. Finalmente, también hicimos una tarjeta y escuchamos esta canción.

CARNIVAL TIME!

CHRISTMAS!

This is one part of the activities we did in English related to Christmas. From the beginning of December we had an Advent Calendar in our classroom. Each day the helper opened a square to get a small gift, and also we counted how many days left to the Christmas Day!

Esta es una parte de las actividades que hicimos en inglés para navidad. Desde el principio del mes de diciembre tuvimos un calendario de adviento en nuestra clase. Cada día, el ayudante abría una casilla para conseguir un pequeño detalle y también contábamos cuántos días quedaban para ¡el día navidad!

We learned some words related to Christmas vocabulary and played several games. We watched the following video, too.

We decorated our classroom doors.

Decoramos las puertas de nuestra clase.

Then, we also learned some words of toys and we could write our English letter to Santa.

Después, aprendimos algunas palabras de juguetes, así que, pudimos escribir nuestra carta a Papá Noel en inglés.

Finally, in Arts&Crafts we made a Santa's face, with some recycled materials, to hang it on the door of our houses.

Por último, en plástica hicimos una cara de Papá Noel, con algunos materiales reciclados, para colgarla en la puerta de nuestras casas.

Tonight, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. The history of this festival began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

Esta noche, los americanos celebran Acción de Gracias. La historia de esta festividad comenzó como un día de agradecimiento por la bendición de la cosecha del año anterior. Se celebra el cuarto jueves de noviembre.

For this festival, in our school we have recreated a big table with some foods, like for example, the well-known turkey.
